Obviously, car accidents can sometimes cause serious injuries. This is particularly upsetting when the accident involves a child. On November 30, a young boy was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake County with serious injuries suffered in a car accident about 4:30 pm.

The mother of the boy was driving a Subaru legacy, and according to the Ogden Police, she stopped at the Wall Avenue stop sign while heading west on 4th Street. Thereafter, she was in the process of making a left turn when a northbound Dodge struck her car.

The 31-year-old mother and her 3-year old and 1-year old sons were all injured in the collision and taken to a local hospital. Subsequently, the 3-year-old boy was moved to the medical center in Salt Lake County, where his condition was unknown. The driver of the other car was uninjured. Police are continuing to investigate the exact sequence of events that led up to the crash and the investigation continues.

The facts and circumstances of the collision must be thoroughly examined before any causation can be determined. If it turns out that the driver of the Dodge is actually at fault, then the mother involved in this accident may want to consider pursuing a civil suit. It is important that the pain and injury suffered by her and her children be recognized and, if possible, remunerated under the law. Regardless of who was at fault it is important in situations like this that steps be taken to ensure that the medical and ongoing rehabilitation expenses are covered.
